Important Visa InformationCitizens of a foreign country who wish to enter China must first obtain a visa. It is vital that you do this as soon as possible. Visas must be arranged beforehand through your nearest Embassy or Consulate. CTS and CITS, China's state travel agencies, also arrange visas and have offices worldwide. Once your paper has been accepted as an oral or poster presentation and/or you have decided to attend as a delegate and require a letter of invitation, please contact the Congress Secretariat by Friday 28 March. After this date requests cannot be processed. ***18 APRIL 2008: NEW CHANGES TO VISA REQUIREMENTS*** The requirements for visas have changed this week and delegates should check directly with their local Chinese embassy as to what these are. Invitation letters for business visas previously issued by Elsevier are no longer valid due to the recent changes. A government invitation letter is now required and Elsevier is not authorised to issue these; we are therefore not able to issue letters. We are currently investigating how the government invitation letters can be applied for and more information will be added to this website in due course. Please see http://www.chinese-embassy.org.uk/eng/lsyw/chivisa/t424261.htm for the requirements from the UK Chinese embassy. |
